Great week in Logan

Hey everyone, It has been a wonderful week in Logan. It has been a roller coaster
ride and it was indeed crazy!! I am loving my mission!

This week was a little tougher than usual.

First off, we met with Mahryan and she told us that she wants to be baptized. We taught an amazing lesson and invited her to be baptized. She accepted a baptismal date of November 22 and she was willing to work towards that goal. She was very solid then last night, all of the sudden, when we were out finding people to teach, her friends (Mahryan's fellowshipper) texted us and told us that Mahryan wants to cancel taking the lessons right now. This means that we lost the date and Mahryan. We tried calling her friends to see what happened. They haven't responded yet but I have no idea what happened. I thought we were doing a really good job with her. Crazy..

We almost hit the Standard of Excellence (only 1/8 of the mission hits it a week) but we didn't hit the amount required for baptismal dates. Other than that, we exceeded all of them, even with some of them, it was over double. So number-wise, we are doing really good.

Also, the Jackson family will be going to the Temple this Saturday. I am soooo pumped about that. I have been temple-sick and I am super stoked for it. It will be so awesome! Brother and Sister Jackson will be getting endowed and sealed in the Logan temple and it will be great. They came so far and I am super glad to be a part of their journey, even though it was for a few months.

Elder Freitag and I had a sick lesson with Cherry and her son, Frank. We talked a lot about God and who He is. Cherry and Frank have no idea who God is before they came to Utah. A lot of things we talked about helped her understand what a God is and why He is our loving Heavenly Father. It was pretty amazing to see the light in their eyes when their minds click on the idea of a loving Heavenly Father. It was pretty amazing. The WML of that ward told us to not to invite them to be baptized and I was super tempted to invite but we needed to keep that member trust, especially if it is a WML (Ward Mission Leader).

Janey is coming along quite well. We had a great lesson with her but she has a hard time understanding English. She told us that she wants to take the lesson in Cantonese to help her understand better. Good thing we cover the Chinese group. We found a couple guys that are Cantonese speakers and they will help us translate. It will be a neat experience to see what happens. I am excited!

Things are going pretty good this week. I am super excited for the temple. I love the temple so much. I know that it is the House of the Lord. It is really His house. I am so grateful to be able to have a temple recommend. :) I love you all and stay strong! Have a wonderful week.  Love, Elder McGrath
